Abstract

The issue of housing shortages in Indonesia is still unresolved, as evidenced by the results of the 2021 National Socioeconomic Survey (Susenas) which show that the gap between the availability and demand for housing in Indonesia has reached 12.71 million and a development program of 1.5 million houses per year is needed to catch up on these deficiencies. This issue intersects with the achievement of the 11th Sustainable Development Goals, namely Sustainable Cities and Communities, so there is an urgency to create sustainable development and provide access to sustainable and affordable housing for the community. In facing a sustainable future development, it is necessary to design a built environment in the form of housing clusters based on SDGs and this issue can be solved by applying the principles of sustainable architecture to ensure the sustainability of residential development. This study aims to find SDGs-based housing cluster design criteria with a sustainable architecture approach. A qualitative approach method is used to analyze the required criteria by conducting a literature study and critically reviewing journals that can help find the ideal criteria for SDGs-based housing cluster design with sustainable architecture approach. The anticipated outcome is the creation of SDGs-based housing cluster design criteria with a sustainable architecture approach that can count as an effort to achieve the 11th SDGs, making it ideal for implementing sustainable development in the future.
